Best 3 Catering Companies in Scotland (or at least my favorites)
I have now been working with event suppliers in Scotland and in the UK for more that 6 years and I thought I might be able to help someone by sharing some of the information and knowledge I've been acquired so far.
I have therefore decided to start from my favorite task of the event organization: choosing FOOD!
1. Bespoke Catering - http://bespoke-catering.com/
I hired Chris and his team for the first time for my #DesignPopUp #Glasgow event in 2017 and I was really impressed with the service they provided. Not only their set up was the coolest and quirkiest of all the companies I worked with previously, but also their food was delicious (on that occasion they served canapes and set up a risotto station) and last but not least they are lovely people to work with. They have recently gone through a revamp of their brand and website, and the new photos they have taken of their food and events are fantastic: http://bespoke-catering.com/gallery/. They are my top 1 of catering companies to work with in Scotland and would recommend them to everyone: trust them and let them guide you in your choices, they definitely know what they are doing.
2. The Oysterman Events - https://www.theoystermanevents.co.uk/
I was invited to a drinks reception at one of my customer's showrooms in London in 2015 and - catering-wise - they had opted for a fish theme: the buffet offered a lot of delicious smoked salmon but then I turned around and found myself staring at an Oyster Man! I love oysters and immediately loved the idea, so much so that once back to Scotland I contacted the #LochFyneOyster bar (one of my favorite restaurants in Scotland, by the way) to ask if they could provide the same service. A few weeks later the lovely Ferran got in touch. I have used him since and even asked him to come to my event in Manchester. To be an Oyster Man it is not simply about knowing how to shuck an oyster, but you need to have the right personality to interact with the guests and knowledge to explain what all the fuss is about. And Ferran is brilliant at all of those. No need to say, he will be back at both my Glasgow and Manchester events this year too.
3. Appetite Direct - http://www.appetitedirect.com/
Back in 2014, for my very second #DesignPopUp event, I hired the beautiful Dovecot Studios in #Edinburgh for a couple of weeks. As a venue, they give you a list of preferred caterers you must work with, so after asking for quotes to a couple of them, I eventually chose Appetite Direct for my drinks reception. It was a very simple job as I didn't have much of a budget back then, and I was pleased enough with the outcome. A couple of years later I was very kindly invited by Appetite Direct to attend the launch of the new event space at Colstoun House, which they had partnered with. And that was really impressive: they had set up a beautiful buffet using as much local ingredients and produces as possible that looked amazing, rustic but extremely sophisticated at the same time, and everything tasted lovely. Would be happy to work with them and recommend them to anyone.
